Cool Ice Hockey Event in Gothenburg

30/1/2025

Attending an ice hockey game is an excellent choice for a networking event. Why? The frequent breaks in the game, the close seating arrangement, and the opportunity to combine it with a nice dinner all create the perfect setting for meaningful connections and conversations.

Last year, the Dutch Chamber hosted its very first ice hockey networking event, which attracted many members already. This year, the interest grew even further, and we were thrilled to welcome 30 participants! Having learned from experience, we made sure to secure seats next to the home supporters’ section in the arena Scandinavium—and what an experience that was! The singing, cheering, and contagious energy from the crowd brought excitement to a whole new level.

Sweden’s love for ice hockey is well known, and the country has much more to offer. One area is understanding the cultural nuances between Sweden and the Netherlands. Arjan Verdooren, a leading expert in intercultural communication, will be sharing his insights with us on February 18th at International House Gothenburg during our AW & seminar Intercultural Communication - with Arjan Verdooren
We are looking forward welcoming you there!

Fantastic New Year's Mingle at Pom Friterie

21/1/2025

We wanted to take a moment to reflect on the fantastic New Year’s mingle we had last Thursday, 16 January, at Pom Friterie in Stockholm. It was truly a pleasure to see such a great turnout, with so many familiar and new faces joining us for an uplifting and memorable evening while enjoying some well-appreciated Dutch snacks!
A special thank you to Pom Friterie and of course to everyone who contributed to making the evening such a success. Your participation, enthusiasm were deeply appreciated. The conversations we had were inspiring, and we can’t wait to carry those ideas forward as we move into the year ahead.
Lastly, we’re excited to announce that registration is now open for our upcoming events from February onwards! We are looking forward to more great mingles, discussions, and shared moments of joy throughout 2025.
Once again, a huge thank you to all who joined us and made the evening so memorable. We are excited about the possibilities ahead and look forward to seeing you all again soon!

New Year's Mingle in Malmö

19/1/2025

What better way to start the new year than by connecting with old friends, making new ones, and engaging in meaningful conversations? That’s exactly what happened on Tuesday, January 14th, when the Dutch Chamber of Commerce hosted a fantastic afterwork gathering at Malmö's coolest co-working space, The Ground.

As we look back on this evening, we can’t help but feel grateful for the opportunity to kick off the year with such a vibrant community. The mingle was not only about enjoying good food and drinks but also about strengthening the bonds within the Dutch Chamber’s network. It’s always inspiring to see so many professionals come together, eager to share ideas, support one another, and build lasting relationships.

We want to extend a big thank you to everyone who attended and made the event such a success. Your participation and enthusiasm made all the difference. We are excited to see what 2025 holds for the Dutch Chamber of Commerce in Region South and look forward to more opportunities to connect, collaborate, and grow together.

If you missed this event, don’t worry! Our next gathering is the Walk & Talk on 25th March where you can enjoy some fresh air, and great conversations. Be sure to join us for this energising networking opportunity – we look forward to seeing you there!

In the spotlight: CSC

17/1/2025

Our corporate member Intertrust Group has become CSC. What should we know about CSC? We asked our board member Lotte van der Vaart, and her colleagues Anders Thorell and Olle Lillsebbas:
Picture
Intertrust Group, with Dutch origin, joined the Dutch Chamber in the autumn of 2021. Subsequently, Intertrust was acquired by CSC, a global leader in providing expert business administration and compliance services. CSC hosts more than 8,000 employees who provide expertise and capabilities in over 140 jurisdictions. We have our headquarters in Wilmington, Delaware, USA, and we are a privately held company founded in 1899, which means that in 2024, we have celebrated our 125th anniversary!

CSC is the largest professional service provider in Sweden. Where Intertrust was active within corporate services, capital markets, fund solutions, depositary services, and private client services, the acquisition extended our business in Sweden with a Digital Brand Services department. We have two offices in Sweden, one located in one of the Hötorget buildings in central Stockholm, and one in Malmö. In total, we are now around 100 employees in Sweden, serving over 800 client entities.

As we have grown into a larger company, we recently upgraded our membership to corporate level, and our colleagues in Digital Brand Services are thrilled to be introduced to the network as well. With the Chamber reviving its activities in Region South, our colleagues in Malmö are also very excited to become part of the network in this area.

What do you specialize in in Sweden?
CSC Sweden’s philosophy is to be a one-stop shop for any legal and financial management or administrative need providing high-quality support at all levels. Our core business includes incorporating, domiciling, and managing companies and structures for our clients on a global or local level. The services further include the provision of board members and process agents, regular bookkeeping and statutory accounting, payroll administration, bank account setup and administration, escrow and paying agency services, administration of Incentive Programs/Share Plans, and liquidation services. We cooperate with major Swedish, Dutch, and international law firms, tax advisors, banks, auditors, etc., complementing each other’s services.

CSC Digital Brand Services is the trusted provider of choice for a majority of the Forbes Global 2000 in the areas of domain name management, DNS, digital certificates and online brand and fraud protection. We support our clients by securing the digital assets they control and providing them with insight and remediation of external online threats.

What could CSC offer our members?
If your company has plans on expanding to Sweden and needs assistance with setting up a company or branch or any services related to maintaining Swedish entities, our corporate services department can assist with this. If you’re looking to ensure that your digital assets are properly secured or would like to find new ways to protect your online brand from bad actors, our Digital Brand Services division is here to tell you more about our online security and brand protection offerings. We are always happy to discuss over a cup of coffee to see how we can help you further!

CSC will host the upcoming Corporate Lunch on Digital Brand Protection on 11 February. What can we expect from this lunch, can you tell us more about this subject?
We are very excited to host the upcoming Corporate Lunch in February. This edition will be led by Olle Lillsebbas, European Sales Manager for our Digital Brand Services department. Olle will cover the latest trends in online fraud, discussing how bad actors are evolving and some of the remedies companies can take to combat this constantly growing threat.

Member in the spotlight: Anderson MacGyver

12/1/2025

Anderson MacGyver has recently joined as a corporate member. We asked Patrik Hermansson, Country Director Nordics, to introduce the management consulting firm to our members:
Picture
Can you tell us what Andersson MacGyver is about?
Anderson MacGyver is a management consulting firm with its roots in the Netherlands. The company was founded in 2013 by Gerard Wijers and Rik Bijmholt. Our core purpose is, and has always been, to help our clients to harness yet unrealized business value by leveraging the powerful potential of technology and data. We are currently around 70 consultants in the Netherlands, the Nordics and Germany.

We have an IP-based culture, we are authentic individuals and, we are passionate about our profession. This ensures strong client bonds, advisory with impact, sustainable results, and meaningful change.

Why did you expand to Scandinavia and why Sweden especially? What are your long-term plans for Sweden?
Well, the founders had, prior to Anderson MacGyver, done business in Sweden and from the beginning had their minds set on entering this market. As I’m sure you know, there are also quite some similarities between the Netherlands and Sweden, even if we sometimes also are struggling with some differences (...not to forget the Swedish decision-making process.) I’m the Nordics Director and I came into the picture when I was recruited to launch the brand in the Nordics 5 years ago. Internationalization is one of our success strategies and over the coming years we are aiming to grow within our three markets, and also most probably grow into one or two new European markets.

Do you have a personal connection to the Netherlands?
Initially not, but I now I have. As Country Direction and part of the European Leadership team I collaborate intensively with the other leadership team members together with other colleagues on weekly basis. We do cross-border projects, we have many knowledge sharing online sessions, and we meet physically for training & teambuilding, quarterly days, leadership off-site meetings and Christmas dinners. Over the last five years I’ve probably been to the Netherlands around 40 times.

What can our members expect from you?
If you or your organisation wants support on your digital journey you should reach out. We support our clients to find solutions to their biggest “pains” as well as achieving the desired “gains”. We do this within the following areas:
Strategy
Multimodal organization (Design, sizing & implementation of Business-Technology organizations)
Technology & Partners (Design & implementation of future proof Technology & Data landscapes)
Data 2 Value (Data vision & strategy, Data foundation and Value realisation)

On March 11, 2025 we’ll be hosting a corporate lunch on the topic Becoming a Digital Enterprise. I hope to be able to share some insights, have interesting conversations and to get to know more members of the Dutch Chamber then.

/M.N.
