It may or may not have been a coincidence to host this exhibition at Artipelag, still, there is no doubt that the venue’s stunning surroundings enhanced the atmosphere and truly elevated the experience.
Once inside the museum, we were enveloped in a mesmerizing digital display that brought Van Gogh’s masterpieces to life. The seamless integration of classical music and visual art created an ambiance that felt both transcendent and intimate.

Vincent van Gogh, born on March 30, 1853, in the Netherlands, began painting at age 27 and created over 2,000 works in just over a decade. His bold use of colour and expressive style transformed art around the world.
One of his most famous works, "The Starry Night," painted in June 1889, reflects his emotional turmoil and fascination with the night sky. Created while he was at the Saint-Paul-de-Mausole asylum in Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, the painting features swirling stars and a vibrant, dreamlike sky over a quiet village. Its innovative use of colour and form captures the artist's inner struggles and deep connection to the natural world. Despite his challenges, Van Gogh’s legacy endures, celebrated for its emotional depth and innovation.
