I had no significant connection to Sweden before my first visit to Stockholm five years ago. However, during that trip, I sort of fell in love with the city -Stockholm truly boasts a stunning cityscape!
The reason for my initial visit to Stockholm was related to my role at Blue Billywig, where we were in the process of establishing an office in Sweden. This visit involved meeting potential clients and partners, as well as initiating the recruitment process to hire local colleagues.
Since then our Swedish office has been operating for nearly 5 years, and for the past two years, I have been responsible for overseeing its operations. I currently live in Vasastan with my dog.
I’ve been with Blue Billywig for almost eight years and before I moved to Sweden, I was mainly focused on developing the company’s commercial activities in the Netherlands. Essentially, my work remains similar, but I now carry out these responsibilities in a different country.
Can you tell us more about the company Blue Billywig?
I think Blue Billywig is an amazing software company. We’ve developed an Online Video Platform that lets our clients easily manage, publish and analyze all their video content.
We work with all sorts of different industries. For example, we help sports clubs to increase their fan engagement, assist publishers to distribute video ads, and support large corporates to communicate efficiently and effectively with their customers and employees.
We have an amazing team of over 50 colleagues spread across our offices in Amsterdam, Hilversum, and Singapore. Our main goal is to help our clients succeed every single day. We work hard to support them and make sure they achieve their goals.
What can we expect from you as an SME member of the Dutch Chamber?
Most importantly, I’m really excited about making new connections in Stockholm. I enjoy attending events where I can get inspired, meet new people, and walk out with a smile on my face. As a Dutch person/Dutchie living in Sweden, I sometimes encounter situations where I could use some advice or insights from others who have gone through similar experiences.
My goal is to build a network of like-minded individuals whom we can support and learn from each other, both in our professional and personal lives. It's all about collaborating, having fun together, and strengthening one another. Let's grow, share knowledge, lend a helping hand, and create memorable experiences along the way!
