On Monday the 16th of October DCC region South hosted an event with the theme ”Dare to Brave” at the very suitable place Bloom in the Park known for its innovative food and place in the Michelin Guide.
We had invited 2 entrepreneurs from the region, Frida Martinsson and Thomas Adner. Frida is the founder of By Frida EM, a fashion company creating sustainable designs made of inner tubes from bicycles. Thomas is the founder and CEO of Caliente, a company making and distributing refreshing fruit drinks that profile themselves as the ultimate non-alcoholic beverage as their products offers a certain kick from chili. The two of them, as well as the founder of Bloom in the Park, Iggy Vidal, spoke to our guests about what it's like to follow your dreams, and do what you believe in. They all agreed on that bravery is doing just that. The guests also got the chance to taste some of the brave creations from Bloom in the Park. Questions and discussions followed about ”what is bravery” and how to overcome your fears and doubts. All in all, it was a very inspiring evening where new acquaintances were made, and we were happy to see new and old members meet and get engaged with the topic of the evening. My name is Charlotte de Jong and I am going to support the Stockholm team of the Dutch Chamber. It is just over three years since I moved to Stockholm for the sole purpose of adding some adventure to my life. After two amazing years I looked for this even a bit further away from home and travelled to New Zealand. But as many of you understand: Nothing beats Sweden! So here I am, back in Stockholm and working as the Nordic HR Coordinator for BP as of March 2017. A challenging and international environment, this is where I thrive. And the same goes for the Dutch Chamber, an international networking organisation that is eager to grow and has great aspirations. I had the pleasure to join the board during 2015-2016 and this year I will be supporting them in the Stockholm region with events. Looking forward to meet you during the upcoming Orange Tables event! In September we welcomed WePayroll as a new SME member. Being introduced to the Dutch Chamber by the Swedish Chamber of Commerce, Founder and owner Ralph Wilbers has been visiting a few of our events the past years, starting with the Annual Dinner in 2016. From that day forward, Ralph signed up for the newsletter to keep track of events and interesting news items. With WePayroll now growing in Sweden, the timing felt right to join the Dutch Chamber as a SME member. WePayroll is a full service payroll provider and was founded in 2009 in the Netherlands, serving SMEs starting with 1 employee up to (currently) 500. This is the main target group. Ralph Wilbers explains: "At WePayroll there is a strong believe and effort in partnerships with customers. We want our customers to rely on us, as if we are their internal payroll department. Therefore we offer all-in pricing on full service. We are known for that extra step we take for our customers. We work with a softwareprogram that we have been using since 2009 in the Netherlands and that has been introduced to the Swedish market only since 2014. Of course we hire local payroll specialists in order to be able to serve our Swedish clients in their own language and with respect for the business culture. Our clients are often global companies needing a payroll service in Sweden. We also work together with local specialists in adjacent disciplines such as HR, Tax & Pension. We believe that this is the way to make a difference and deliver a high quality to our clients." Ralph Wilbers started WePayroll Sweden in 2014. "I, just like 99% of people with this profession, became a payroll specialist by coincidence. Being a payroll specialist and entrepreneur with international ambitions eager to show the world payroll is sexy and fun, I can say I have found my passion in this specialism. I am anything but a conservative payroll specialist and I only regret I didn't start in this business 10 years early." What was the reason behind your decision to become member of the Dutch Chamber? "I think building a local network is very important and that it needs to be built with care. The Dutch Chamber is a network that can helps us to understand the Swedish business culture better. We hope that this knowledge will help us to serve the Swedish clients the way we serve our Dutch clients, but in a way the Swedish customers feel comfortable with. To be an active member of the network I think it is all about give and take. Of course I am open to share my knowledge and expertise on payroll with the members. I am really looking forward to meet more members soon." |
