Fabulous Annual Dinner at Nobel Museum

22/3/2018

On Friday the 16th of March members and friends of the Dutch Chamber met at the Nobel Museum in Stockholm for the Annual Diner. It became a great evening, inspired by the great minds of Nobel Laureates. The Ambassador of the Netherlands and our patron, Mrs. Ines Coppoolse opened the evening at the museum together with Chairman Maarten Merckx with a great speech on the necessity of innovation.

The guests were invited to the tables and served with a Nobel Diner inspired menu and had the opportunity to meet old and new friends. With a fantastic performance of the Adolf Fredriks Kyrkas Kammarkör and an exciting and interesting speech by Tobias Degsell, former curator of the Nobel Museum and Founder of Combiner, the evening became fabulous.
Tobias reminded us of the power of creativity. With an expected longer life ahead of us it is important that scientists and the industry work together to make this life as smooth and healthy possible.

Maarten Merckx took the opportunity to thank soon resigning, Honory Consul for Sweden in the Netherlands, Mr. Lukas Joel. Lukas is a great friend of the Dutch Chamber of Commerce and Maarten thanked Lukas for his contributions and cooperations over the last few years.

We thank our sponsors Samskip van Dieren, Amgen, Randstad, Berkers & Company and not to forget the organising committee - consisting of Jorien Olthof, Charlotte de Jong and Els Berkers in making this an unforgettable evening.

Keep an eye on the announcement for next year if you missed this year’s Annual Diner. We will be back with another night to remember!

"Make diversity your next business success" - 21 March

22/3/2018

Together with the SGLCC the Dutch Chamber hosted an inspiring evening on Diversity & Inclusion on 21 March.
The Dutch Ambassador, Ines Coppoolse set the tone of the evening after which a panel of five people with a different background but a common drive for human rights, diversity and inclusion, discussed the topic.

The Diversity Business Award Sweden was this year won by Swedavia AB for their work on an inclusive labor market.
Some comments from the audience were: “They figuratively hoist the rainbow flag every day” and “An example of an inclusive employer that live up to their values”.

Congratulations Swedavia!

GothenburgĀ  and Dutch Chamber welcome 120 Dutch 'friendship walkers'

20/3/2018

On Friday 27 April 2018, the Dutch King's Day, 120 walkers from the international walking event 'the North Sea Walk' (NSW) visit the city of Gothenburg.

Various entrepreneurs will give them a warm welcome and offer local products. The hikers walk for about 10 kilometres through Gothenburg along nature, culture and art and through buildings.

The special relationship between Sweden and the Netherlands is also reflected in this sporting event; the Dutch ambassador in Sweden, Mrs Ines Coppoolse and Lord Mayor of Gothenburg, Mrs Lena Malm will welcome the walkers.

"As the Dutch ambassador in Sweden, I am particularly looking forward to welcoming a large group of fellow citizens in the beautiful city of Gothenburg on Friday 27 April 2018, our national holiday. A city which is perfect for a 'Friendship Walk' by Dutch walkers. After all, it was the Dutch who influenced the construction and design of the city; as a result the existence of our language officially acknowledgeded  alongside Swedish for a long time. That is no longer the case, but I am convinced that the walkers - just like me - will be surprised by the hospitality and sense of recognition in Gothenburg. A bit like coming home, but then across the border. In a country in which the friendly relations have been felt for more than 400 years. I wish the group a lot of fun and look forward to our meeting on 27 April! "
(Mrs Coppoolse, the Dutch Ambassador in Sweden)

The walkers walk in groups through the city together with a 'guide', member of the Dutch-Swedish Vereniging', the app of the NSW gives the walkers all information and descriptions of the sights along the route.

Sponsors contributing to this event: AKZO Nobel, the city of Gothenburg, IKEA, Lådfabriken - B & B in Bohuslän and the Dutch Chamber of Commerce.

The Dutch Chamber of Commerce in Gothenburg, together with its members, the walkers and other guests will make a toast our King's Day after the Friendship Walk!

Our contacts in Gothenburg will receive a personal invitation for a drink on our Kings day.

More information about the Friendship Walk can be found here.

Innovation in Health Care - with Dutch and Swiss embassies and Chambers of Commerce

12/3/2018

"Successes and barriers for innovation in health care - what can we learn from three different health care systems?"That was the theme of the healthcare seminar which was held at the Embassy of the Netherlands in Stockholm on the 7th of March.

The seminar was organised by Forum för health policy in cooperation with the Dutch and Swiss Embassies and the Dutch- and Swiss Chambers of Commerce. In International comparison, these three countries are some of the best in the world in terms of innovation and an innovative climate as a whole, but how about innovation in the health care sector? And what can we learn from each other?

Expert speakers from the three different countries gave their own reflection about the health care systems. After the presentations a panel debate was held about what we can learn and how to speed up innovation.

You can find the presentations of the expert speakers here.
