Guided tour at Ericsson Studio

18/3/2024

On the 14th of March, the Dutch Chamber visited the Ericsson Imagine Studio in Kista. It began with a guided tour through the Ericsson Studio, offering a firsthand glimpse into the realm of cutting-edge technology and innovation. We were exposed to the latest advancements in telecommunications, including the revolutionary realms of 5G/6G connectivity and immersive AR/VR experiences.

There was much engagement with the attendees. We had discussions on sustainability and the impact of innovation on creating a greener future. We reflected on the remarkable journey of telecommunications, from the first telephones to modern-day solutions enabling remote work and enhancing workplace safety.

The presentation on sustainability underscored the urgent need for global leaders to address pressing environmental challenges. Ericsson exemplified its commitment to sustainability by showcasing initiatives aimed at reducing energy consumption and fostering innovation for cleaner solutions.

This event provided a platform for members to come together, exchange ideas, and envision a brighter future.

Networking at the ice rink

6/3/2024

Ice hockey is known for its high speed, quick transitions and intense physicality, making it thrilling to watch. The combination of skillful skating, precise puck handling and strategic gameplay creates an electrifying atmosphere for both players and spectators. Fireworks and upbeat music makes it an event that was enjoyed by all 25 participants of Region West on March 5th.

Ice hockey professionals in our Göteborg network
The evening started with a bbq-dinner in Scandinavium, the arena for the ice hockey game. Ice hockey legend and Dutch Chamber member Joris Van den Bossche explained the rules. He played for Belgian teams on professional level and was referee back in the days. Today he works at Volvo Trucks. Volvo is corporate member, with many colleagues joining this event.
Participant Marco van der Wal from Camino Vastgoed BV: ’I was not sure whether I would be in Sweden during this event. Luckily Team West made it possible for me to join last minute. The coincidence is that I am, just like Joris, a former hockey player. I played for the Dutch Premier Hockey Division Smoke Eaters in Geleen.’

Seating arrangements
Networking whilst seated?! To avoid limited networking, seating arrangements were made which made it possible to change rows during every break. An ice hockey game namely exist of three play sessions which have an 18 minutes pause. The perfect moment to speak with other participants in the lounge and then take new seats, with new persons to exchange ideas with. Participant Jurgen Bouw from Proxify: ’I have met so many engaging people who don’t know each other and very much enjoy each others company. Thank you for organising this event! I will definitely keep an eye on Dutch Chambers event calendar for future events.’

Next event April 10th
Join us for a dinner with a spectacular view from the 33rd floor at Brasserie Draken.

Our first Young Professional Event in Gothenburg

3/3/2024

Wednesday 28th February marks the date of the first Young Professional event in Gothenburg. After work, the participants gathered at the Boulebar.
All participants were divided into six teams and after some introduction by a guide, the game could begin. We played petanque for 90 minutes, changing opponents every 10 minutes to increase network opportunities. Afterwards, we took our seats in the bar for some drinks, snacks and mingling. And of course, the winner was announced: team pink! It was a great event with many new faces. Hope to see you again soon!
