Annual Dinner at the SPRITMUSEUM - What a blast!
“Friday evening 17:00, some tension up in the ‘prov’-room of the Spritmuseum. Is everything in place? It’s the last run through the evening with the kitchen and the board. After this moment it is all about letting go and enjoying the evening.”
And that we did! Last Friday, 18th of March, our Annual dinner took place at the Spritmuseum. A wonderful modern location on Djurgården. Our early birds could catch a guided tour through the history of drinking in Sweden and the Absolut Art collection. Linking to the combination of alcohol and art, the Roaring Twenties were the central theme throughout the evening.
First toasts were made with an exclusive red cocktail, made possible by the TMF group. The mingle amongst the museums exhibition was a nice start of the evening , speaking to old acquaintances and making new connections.
Continuing to the dinner, opened by our host Ingrid de Laat, our taste buds were stimulated by the wonderful food and wines served by sommelier Erika Lindström & chef Petter Nilsson.
For a spirit lifting break the actors from International Theater Stockholm created an improvised comedy, helped by the audience, around Swedish and Dutch habits. All this positive energy gave everyone an appetite for the dessert.
This evening would not be complete without a true Swedish toast; a ‘nubbe’ and scanting “Helan går!” with all 95 guests. A truly memorable moment for the Dutch Chamber and not to forget the staff of the Spritmuseum.
Karen van Stegeren was called on stage since she will be leaving Stockholm for her new posting in Tallin. We will miss her at the Embassy and wish her all the best in her new position!
The night continued with mingling, accompanied by the Jazz sounds of the Twenties and when it was time to leave, a goody bag from Rituals was waiting for all.
“0:30 the last beers are enjoyed at the bar, everyone is smiling, hands are shaken, contact details exchanged. The night flew by, that’s a sign of letting go! I need to let go of my high heels now too ;)”
