The celebrations for King’s Day were held in Rotterdam, the second largest city of The Netherlands. In Gothenburg, the second largest city of Sweden, the Dutch community gathered in café ’t Amsterdammertje. The evening was filled with old friends reconnecting, young and old dancing, toasts being made, and new ideas for upcoming events being discussed.
Manuel Harmsen, the new Chair of the Dutch Chamber, used this opportunity to meet many members of Region West. Chair of the Zweeds-Nederlandse vereniging gave a speech and the evening was officially opened by singing the Dutch national anthem ’Het Wilhelmus’.
Another birthday
The city of Gothenburg turned 400 years and the Dutch Chamber along with the Zweeds-Nederlandse vereniging will be hosting a big party to mark the occasion. On the 16th of September you are invited to join the 400-year jubilee festivities at Skansen Kronan. Tickets will be available soon.
